David Edgerton Jr. is an executive recruiter, leadership advisor, educator, and entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience helping organizations and professionals navigate change, risk, and growth.

After a 24-year corporate career and a pivotal layoff that forced a hard reset, David built a portfolio career at the intersection of leadership, talent, and strategy. He is the Managing Partner of DEJ Search, a boutique executive search and leadership advisory firm serving mission-driven organizations, boards, and founders. His work focuses on mitigating leadership risk while helping organizations hire and develop leaders who can scale impact—not just fill roles.

In addition to his advisory work, David has spent over 20 years as an adjunct instructor, teaching entrepreneurship, leadership, and career development. His teaching and consulting are grounded in real-world experience, not theory—shaped by decades inside complex organizations and years building businesses from the ground up.
