We all have our favorites – favorite food, favorite drink, favorite place to go for vacation,…you get it.
I’m a kid at heart and I have a favorite cartoon character that has stayed with me most of my entire life.
That cartoon character is Snoopy.
Why is he my favorite? Here are a couple of reasons:
His House is Bigger on The Inside Than the Outside.
In most of the cartoons he is always going inside his red dog house and either pulling out stuff or putting stuff in. He has everything in there and I never figured out if he has a basement or an attic. For all we know there may be a Target or Walmart in there (probably Target since the house is red.)
He Can Do Anything
From shooting down the Red Baron in the Sopwith Camel or riding a motorcycle to a summer camp with his buddy Woodstock, there is nothing this dog can’t do. Cooking Thanksgiving dinner with toast, popcorn, and pretzels is better than any Iron Chef and Hell’s Kitchen show today.
The Best Reason Is The Music Taught Me Jazz At An Early Age
When I was growing up I learned to play the piano – mostly by ear. When I watched Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang, the music of Vince Guaraldi really inspired me to play jazz and work on my musical gift. Watching all the TV specials and running to the piano to play all the songs really gave me an appreciation for the music of the era.
As we prepare for Thanksgiving I know I’m going to watch the Peanuts Thanksgiving special and listen to “Little Birdie” – one of my favorite tunes. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and remember to reflect on how grateful you are.
